I AM A HOUSEHUSBAND - When the wife is the breadwinner, why not?

When the Shoe Never Fits: A Househusband's Memoir
by Mark Patrick Baker

6" x 9" softcover, 326 pages $12.98

Mark Patrick Baker had been an athletic and happy child, a United States Marine, and eventually married the woman he loved... who happened to be in Med School. When a bad (i.e. dangerous) babysitter incident on a particularly busy day occurred, Mark stayed home with the baby. And then he stayed home with the baby while they looked for a new sitter. It wasn't meant to be. Mark and his wife discovered that being happy and satisfied for their growing family meant the dad did all of the home stuff while the mom went into the workforce.
MARK THE HOUSEHUSBAND was born.

AND HE WAS GREAT AT IT!

Such a position was not at all common in the 1980's; often, Mark was the only man at parent-teacher meetings or chaperoning school functions. Many times, at social functions, doctor's wives looked down upon him, wondering if he was lazy or disabled, and it was Mark's strong conviction of what was best for his children that enabled him to handle it with a gracious amount of understanding.

This memoir describes many highs and lows of Mark's endeavors to be the best dad and house-husband that he could be.

Published posthumously; the author and his wife passed tragically the very day the galley proof of the finished book arrived at his home. We thank God that his children were able to receive this memoir in his memory. Our prayers go out to his family for he was truly a wonderful father, husband, and friend. ~ signed, the Publisher
